At the starting blocks the XV edition of Formula SAE Italy, Formula Electric Italy & Formula Driverless: from 24 to 28 July, over 2,600 students will return to compete in Varano de ‘Melegari for the international educational event organized in Italy by ANFIA that took charge of the event in 2017, collecting the legacy of ATA – Technical Automobile Association.
Formula SAE was founded in 1981 by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and envisages that the participating students will measure themselves in the design and construction of a prototype single-seater competition car destined for a possible commercialization, following particular technical and economic constraints, as if it were commissioned by an automotive company for a non-professional user. During the event, the student teams face static tests – Design Event, Business Presentation Event and Cost Event – and dynamics on the track (Acceleration, Skid Pad, Autocross, Endurance; for Class 1D Autocross and Endurance are replaced by the Trackdrive test ).
The aim of the event is to put at the center, more than the competitive spirit in itself, the abilities acquired by the students in terms of engineering knowledge, commitment, organization and respect for the timing, coordination of the design and presentation of the product. This is an educational event where students can learn the dynamics of team work, with precise rules and deadlines to respect, and be tested on the real construction and design phases of the prototype, with all the difficulties that this entails.
The Agrati team will be at #FSAEItaly as a sponsor and to judge the competition.
May the best Team win!
