Agrati in support of B84 Summer Experience 2024

Mountains, nature, sports and fun. This is the recap of the B84 Summer Experience 2024 in Livigno (So), which for five consecutive years has rhymed with the end of the sports season. This year, with a great novelty: the event has doubled in size, flanking the camp dedicated to standing basketball and athletics as in past seasons with youth wheelchair basketball.

The B84 Summer Experience 2024, for the third consecutive time in Livigno, involved a total of 32 athletes from 10 to 20 years old and a staff group of about 20 people, composed of qualified technicians and volunteers, who ensured the success of the experience. The goals achieved with this experience were the same as usual: growth and improvement of technical skills with the basketball, standing and wheelchair, athletics fundamentals and much more. At the B84 Summer Experience, in fact, it was not only about sports, but each participant was able to experience new spaces of supervised autonomy returning home fortified for having experienced significant moments with the security of individual and group growth. Much more, then, than a summer camp.

THE PROJECT – The B84 Summer Experience is a real project in which Briantea84 has decided to invest to give a new opportunity to its members and beyond. This is evidenced by the growth in terms of structure and participant numbers, which have been increasing significantly for the past five years. The living costs that remain uncovered are many, and the success of the B84 Summer Experience is also possible thanks to those who, every summer, decide to support it. This year, Agrati has helped to ensure full coverage of expenses such as room and board for the volunteer staff and technicians, sports kits and refueling the vehicles that will be used to reach Livigno.

Elena Colombo, vice-president of Briantea84 and head of the standing basketball and athletics sectors of Briantea84: “The Summer Experience is a regular end-of-season event for our sectors. Livigno is a wonderful place, a splendid setting in which to experience six intense days of sports. Perfect conclusion for a season that has seen us grow both in terms of athletes and sports commitments. […] A due thank you goes to the Municipality of Livigno, the Sporting Club, the staff of Aquagranda and all those realities that allowed the realization of this fantastic project.”

Carlo Orsi, head of the youth wheelchair basketball sector of Briantea84: “The B84 Summer Experience is not only a summer camp intended to perfect playing technique through training, but it is above all an aggregative experience. In fact, it is a great opportunity to be together in complete autonomy away from parents. Our idea is to create a space for girls and boys where they can socialize, have fun together and build bonds of friendship. All, of course, without forgetting the training that will be a new opportunity to learn and improve.”

Michela Petrillo, Group Communication Manager of Agrati: “The one between Agrati and Briantea84 is a story of sharing; sharing values such as respect, team spirit, continuous growth, but above all, sustainability. We are committed to local communities and believe in our ability to be able to help make a difference. We collaborate with Briantea84 to achieve a common goal: to promote sports among young people with disabilities and foster a new inclusive culture. For this reason, we renew our support for Briantea84 by providing this year’s “clothing kit” for participation in the B84 Summer Experience for young athletes and staff.”
