With over 80 years of expertise, Agrati Group stands as a trusted global partner, delivering innovative, high-quality fastening solutions for the automotive, industrial, and future mobility sectors.

Agrati's evolution in decades
1930s – 1940s
The origins of Agrati

The story of Agrati Group begins in 1939, when brothers Carlo, Luigi, and Peppino Agrati transformed their father’s small iron-working workshop into a company dedicated to producing screws for woodworking and furniture. With just 20 employees, they laid the foundation for what would become a global leader in fastening solutions.

1950s – 1960s
Automotive Industry

During the post-war boom, Agrati expanded its production to include screws and bolts, while also manufacturing motorcycle saddles under the Prestigio brand.
As the automotive industry grew, Agrati shifted its focus to automotive fasteners, partnering with French leader Simmonds to create Urama Simmonds in 1965. This move marked a decisive step toward exclusive bolt production.

1970s – 1980s
Growth and Specialization

With the launch of “Attrezzerie Adda” in 1974, Agrati centralized tooling production and doubled its manufacturing capacity over the following decade.
The Group evolved into four specialized entities: Agrati (high-strength bolts and nuts), FEV (low-resistance screws), FIVIT (self-tapping screws), and Urama, which became fully Italian-owned in 1989.

1990s – 2000s
Consolidation and Growth

In 1990, Agrati centralized the preparation of raw materials and heat treatment processes, improving efficiency and quality control across all production plants. By 1999, the company had further strengthened its position in the automotive sector, with a significant increase in the production of special fasteners tailored to the needs of leading car manufacturers.

In 2001, all Italian legal entities merged under Agrati S.p.A., marking the birth of Agrati Group Fastening Systems — a unified structure designed to accelerate international expansion and technological development.

The acquisition of CVB in 2003 expanded Agrati’s product range to include advanced fastening components. In 2006, Agrati entered the Chinese market with YAF, which now employs over 360 people with a fully integrated production cycle and a strong sales team supporting major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Since 2008, Cesare Agrati has led the Group as President & CEO.

2010s
Strategic Investments and Global Expansion

Agrati expanded its logistics network with new centres in Trezzo d’Adda (2009) and Verona (2015), and in 2010 strengthened its presence in France through the acquisition of Acument’sFrench division, adding 800 employees and 4 plants.

In 2014, Agrati further accelerated its global expansion by acquiring Continental Midland Group (CMG), a leading American manufacturer of fasteners, securing a stronger foothold in the North American market. In 2016, Agrati inaugurated its R&D Tech Centre in Veduggio (renamed ATC in 2018) and expanded CVB by 6,000 m². The Val Guiers plant in France also saw the addition of new heat and surface treatment lines, further enhancing production capabilities.

2020s
Leading the Future of Fastening Solutions

Today, Agrati Group operates 12 production plants, 5 logistics centres, and employs over 2.300 people worldwide. With new sales offices in Turkey and the launch of TOKBO, a monitoring system that integrates IoT into fastening technology, Agrati continues to set new benchmarks.

In 2024, Agrati launched Agrati Performance, a Business Unit dedicated to the world of motorsport and high-end supercars, offering advanced fastening solutions and engineering expertise designed for extreme performance and cutting-edge automotive technologies.

Agrati has also embraced a decarbonization strategy, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2039
